China 6c is a homeopathic remedy that should always be given as an accompaniment to other remedies (*see antidotes) as it will help restore strength after loss of bodily fluids. Given by itself it may control diarrhea. Chin is rarely indicated in the early acute stages of disease but it is at its best when the animal has become debilitated.
This remedy is useful if there is dehydration and weakness after using other remedies. In certain cases, if the symptoms call for it, it can also be used beneficially if given along side other remedies, spacing the doses at about 30 minutes to an hour apart (*see antidotes).
Illnesses which have a periodic nature tend to do well under China.
This is a useful remedy especially where there is dehydration associated with diarrhea. Dosing example: Give China in the 30c potency as often as needed.
China should be given where there is blood loss and weakness.
China 6c or 30c is best used where the disease has become chronic and where a relapse has occurred with symptoms of weakness and diarrhea or fever, anemia or debility. China is a good supportive remedy during recovery that can be given daily over a long period of time. Dosing Example: Relapses give China 6c or 30c four times daily. Recovery and support, give in a 6c or 30c, once daily for as long as needed.
In cases of equine Rotavirus infection, China can be given when there is dehydration and collapse. Dosing Example: 200c, given 4 times daily.
China 30c is principally used as an additional remedy in any case where there is dehydration and where fluid therapy has been instigated. It can be used to help in cases where there is watery diarrhea that is passed with no effort but debilitates the animal. Dosing Example: Give China in a 30c potency every 20 minutes until improved.
China 6c or 30c also helps with recovery in cases where the animal is weak, anemic and debilitated. Dosing Example: Give a 6c or 30c potency, twice daily for several weeks.
Another use for China is dehydration during travel, where the animal is inclined to drink less and is nervous and panting. Dosing Example: Give a 30c potency, repeated as needed.
Another problem that is seen is in endurance in racing animals, where they continue to pant for about 20 minutes or so after stopping work. These animals are normally very fit and would not be expected to pant for so long. Panting is a way of losing excess heat along with sweating (horses). If the animal has a thick coat is unable to sweat properly or is dehydrated, it will be unable to lose heat sufficiently to cool down.
This condition may also arise where a horse sweats heavily, with the loss of potassium and chloride salts. This results in a build up of alkaline salts in the blood which initiates an increase in frequency and depth of respiration.
To reduce the problem before work or a ride dose with China 30c and two tissue salts, Nat mur 6x and Kali mur 6x.
Heat Stress
Where heat stress or stroke is apparent, the main remedy to use where dehydration is evident is China 30c. Dosing Example: Give the 30c potency every 15 minutes until improved. Allow small amounts of water to be taken frequently, avoiding consumption of large quantities at any one time to reduce the risk of vomiting or colic.
Post Operative surgical shock caused by loss of fluids (vomiting, bleeding, etc). Dosing Example: Give China 30c every 15 minutes until improved.
